I never met Una, but we communicated briefly shortly after we began following one another on Twitter.
Una said she was "chuffed" that someone so far away -- I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area -- was following her. I could easily have said the same thing to her.
Una was clearly brave and compassionate. She freely gave that most precious gift, her time, toward helping others. It's a tremendous legacy.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Una I remember the days of babysitting your young ones and singing with you at Mass..you had a remarkable gift in your singing and once again shared your remarkable voice in raising awareness. I got to see you at end of last year for the first time again in about 22 yrs...I'm am happy that I had that I got that chance mom may the work you started continue. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time. Alison xx

I never met Una but was so inspired by her determination and courage to make people more aware of Ovarian cancer. I have lost dear friends to this silent killer and another dear friend is receiving treatment for it. I can't attend the funeral but will be with you in spirit. Your mother's Requiem is on a wonderful Feast of our Lady. God bless you all.
